What EcoBroker means to Me...

This Week I became one of the newest members of a growing number of Certified EcoBrokers in the Real Estate Industry.  As I was going through the 3 part education courses.  I found myself looking at things a little differently around me.

I look forward to bringing more energy efficiency awareness to my local area.  There are many things that we can change in our daily routine and homes to make a difference.

Here are a few things I thought of,  What changes have you made to become more energy efficient?  Feel free to share.

  • Changing to energy efficient light bulbs
  • Installing a programmable thermostat
  • Program heating temperatures lower while no one is home.
  • Turning down the hot water heater temperature to save energy

Brian, I hadn't heard of this designation, but I think it's a great idea. We need to move in this direction and I think this is a great niche.

Jeff- I think it will help reaching the energy conscious buyers.

Peter-  EcoBroker was started a few years ago and there are about 1800 certified agents in the U.S.

Where did you take your ecobroker certification- online or in a class?  It sounds great.

I recently received my EcoBroker designation as well. I have been so pleasantly surprised how receptive my SOI has been. It has definitely been worth the effort- both from an educational and marketing perspective.

Congratulations and welcome to the EcoBroker club!  Your desire to bring the knowledge to the local market is excellent.  The more we all do in our local area, the more the word will spread that every little bit helps make a difference.

Brian, truly, CONGRATS!!!  It's great to see that you were able to not only get through the course, but also that you were able to get so much from it.

I wish you and your business nothing but a TON of success.

Brian,

It's a big commitment to start on the road to become green conscious and then to implement what you wanted to do. As you outline, small steps are crucial for sustainable success and they are easily doable.
