Magicjack might be the answer! Magicjack uses your Internet service to make and receive phone calls from a standard phone. If you miss a call it also has voicemail, and it sends you an email if you receive a voicemail. The first year is $39.95 which includes the Magicjack device that plugs into your USB computer port. After that the service is $19.95 a year! I have had the service for about a month now and have been very satisfied with the clarity of the calls and the overall performance. Best of all it has a 30 day guarantee. So why not try it out, you might enjoy it as much as I have.

Brian,
Pretty cool. It's amazing what I learn here on Active Rain.

Will, Thanks for bringing that up, I did research it quite a bit before I bought it and some did have problems and decided to return it. Which is to be expected with any new technology, but I felt that for the savings on my phone bills, I decided to try it and I have been pleasantly surprised.

Brian:
This device sounds real interesting. One of my biggest frustrations while traveling is calling propspects back for the 1st time on my cell phone. Often it's hard to hear and even harder to make a good impression.
With all the wifi hotspots around today would I be able to plug it into my wireliess laptop and make a phone call with reception/clairity similar to a hardwired phone?
