Your listing is having an Open House, but the Door is Locked!

If you're home is listed on the MLS and has only a photo of the front of the home. (or better yet no photo at all!)  That can be compared to showing up to an Open House and finding the door is locked and you're not able to see the interior of the home.  How frustrating would that be!  I was talking to a representative from homes.com the other day and he made this point.  As we all know, potential homeowners are searching for homes on the Internet and they are expecting to see multiple photos so they can make an informed decision.  Many of the emails I receive are asking for more photos of a home they are interested in.

Real Estate Agents- check your listings today and be sure all your photos are available for the 24/7 Virtual Open House that is taking place everyday on the internet.

Yes you are so right. I work with clients from out of state all the time. Nothing like a listing with no photo. It is useless to send it to them. So unless it is something I feel they must see I will send it. But if it is just so so I will not even bothering sending it. They will not have any idea of what the home is like anyway.

Brian- As an agent put yourself in the customers position. Wouldn't you like to see as much as possible before you decide you actually want to go see the home? The last house I bought I probably looked at the photos and virtual video about 50 times and saw it in person about five time. Also take into consideration the weather..if it is extremely cold or hot...

Brian - I couldn't agree with you more. My clients want to see pictures before they will go out to look at a home.

Sharon, Maria- Its difficult to evaluate a home for your client if you don't know what it looks like!

Trevor- I agree I try to make as much info as possible for the public to see.  I know that some agents believe you need to hold back some info so that the customer will contact you, but the consumer is changing and many will only look at and consider homes that include multiple photos or virtual/video tours.

Brian, very good point. There is REALLY no one in our area that does not show at least 7-8 photos. Every once in a while, an old school agent will take a little while to get his pic up. The funny thing is, buyers are expecting more these days. If they like the home online, they don't trust the pictures a lot of times because of wide angle lenses etc. That is good, that makes them call us to see it anyway, lol.
